From the outsider’s perspective, it would seem as though Benji Lewis is only concerned with the future - moving from his home country Australia to Los Angeles and working towards his third EP, Together Apart - however his newest single ‘Us Again’ is pure nostalgia. As Lewis explains “The song is about wanting to be in the same space as the other person, breathing in the same air, being able to look into their eyes, and have them look at you in the same way. It’s about wanting to have that again, and feel all of things that come just from being around them.” Languishing in memory, ‘Us Again’ is a chilled affair with dreamy production from long-time collaborator Golden Vessel and Lewis’ silky falsetto. It’s a rich display of electronica that the Australians do better than most, transporting the listener away from acoustic reality and into realms of imagined, yet unlimited, possibility. - Hannah Thacker
